If you started searching for a clear stackable storage tote, you probably wanted two things: to see what is inside at a glance and to stack containers vertically without wasted floor space. You will find fabric cubes, lidded baskets, and foldable bags that work well on cube shelving, in closets, under beds, and along garage walls for 2026.

- Lightweight, foldable and easy to pull with durable grommet handle

- Rigidity depends on the bottom insert being correctly placed
The Household Essentials 84-1 is a set of six 11x11 inch fabric cubby bins designed for cube shelving, closets and bookshelves. It is ideal for renters, families and anyone who wants affordable, uniform storage without a custom closet system.
In daily use, these bins excel at corralling clutter like toys, clothing, linens and craft supplies while sliding smoothly in and out with the silver grommet handle. The reinforced bottom insert keeps the base flat and square, and users report they hold a surprising amount while staying lightweight and easy to carry.
Built with sturdy chipboard sides wrapped in durable dove gray poly-woven fabric, the bins offer a clean, minimalist look that blends with traditional or modern decor. The neutral finish and contrasting handle add subtle style, while the fold-flat and stackable design makes them practical for small spaces.
They are not intended for heavy loads, so overloading with books or tools can cause sagging or wear. The fabric is spot clean only and can collect dust or pet hair, and rigidity depends on the included bottom board being properly placed.
Overall, this six pack delivers exceptional versatility, neat aesthetics and reliable everyday organization for the home. If you need attractive, budget friendly cube storage that works in almost any room, this set is a smart and proven choice.
Dimensions per bin: 11 L x 11 W x 11 H inches, standard cube size
Material: Poly-woven fabric exterior, sturdy chipboard sides, polypropylene and iron grommet handle
Color and Finish: Dove Gray with silver grommet handle
Capacity: 6 pounds per bin, 5.2 pounds total set weight
Features: Stackable, foldable for compact storage, easy to clean with damp cloth
Model: Household Essentials 84-1, UPC 040071116279
Pros
- Proven 200 lb strength handles heavy books, linens, and kitchenware without ripping
- Comfortable wrap-around handles make heavy loads easy to carry over the shoulder
- Folds flat and fits under beds for convenient year-round storage
- Water-resistant material and secure zippers keep items clean and protected
Cons
- Soft-sided design offers less crush protection than hard bins for fragile items
- Semi-transparent fabric offers limited privacy for personal belongings
- Can become very heavy and unwieldy when packed to full capacity
The HOMESURE 8-Pack Moving Bags are 24-gallon, semi-transparent storage totes built as a reusable alternative to cardboard boxes. Sized at 29 x 14 x 13 inches, they are designed for college dorm move-ins, apartment relocations, and organized home storage for bedding, clothing, and footwear.
In real world use, the wrap-around cradle handle system stands out by distributing weight from the bottom up for true 200 lb support. Reviewers report packing them with heavy comforters, books, and kitchenware without tearing, and praise how much easier they are to carry over the shoulder than awkward boxes.
Build quality is impressive for a soft tote, with high-density woven polyethylene, reinforced stitching, and smooth dual #5 zippers. The water-resistant fabric holds up to light rain and dusty attics, while the rectangular shape stays upright when packed and the clear tag pocket simplifies labeling and organization.
There are a few tradeoffs to consider. The soft sides will not protect fragile or crushable items as well as rigid plastic bins, and the semi-transparent material means contents are partially visible. When fully loaded to 24 gallons, the bags can also get extremely heavy to lift alone.
Overall, these are an excellent value for anyone who moves frequently or needs flexible, space-saving storage. Durable, capacious, and easy to store flat when empty, they are a practical upgrade over single-use boxes for most clothing and soft goods.
Brand: HOMESURE | Model: HS-M-24gal-8p-Clear | Pack Size: 8 Pack, 24 Gallon per bag
Dimensions: 29"L x 14"W x 13"H | Load Capacity: 200 pounds | Material: Polyethylene (PE) woven fabric
Closure: Dual #5 Zipper | Color: Semi-Transparent | Shape: Rectangular with wrap-around handles
Features: Water-resistant, heavy-duty stitching, clear tag pocket, foldable for storage
Pros
- Exceptionally strong and spacious with reinforced handles and smooth zippers that stay secure when fully loaded
- Clear visibility eliminates guesswork and speeds up packing, unpacking and organizing
- Folds flat and stacks neatly, saving major space compared to boxes and plastic bins
- Waterproof and scratch resistant for reliable moving and long term storage use
- 10-pack value set handles whole-house moves and seasonal storage in one purchase
Cons
- No backpack straps, so hands-free carrying is less convenient than some competing bags
- Clear material offers little privacy for personal items during moves or storage
- Large capacity can become heavy and bulky when fully packed to the limit
The KYODOLED 10-Pack Clear Moving Bags are extra-large 24-gallon totes designed as a reusable alternative to cardboard boxes. They are built for frequent movers, college students and families who need efficient storage for clothes, bedding, toys and seasonal gear.
Standout features include the fully transparent body and front label pocket that let you identify contents at a glance without unpacking. In real use, reviewers note the bags hold a surprising amount while handles and zippers stay secure even when fully loaded with heavy items like books and blankets.
Build quality centers on thick, scratch resistant polypropylene fabric with triple-stitched, wrap-around handles that distribute weight evenly. The bright orange handles improve visibility in crowded trucks, while the waterproof material and sturdy zippers protect against dust and dirt during moves or long term storage.
Drawbacks are minor but worth noting. The bags lack backpack style straps found on some competitors, so hands-free carrying is less convenient. The clear design also offers little privacy, and the large capacity can get heavy if overpacked.
Overall, these totes deliver excellent durability, organization and space savings in a practical 10-pack set. They are a smart, reusable choice for anyone who wants a stronger, more visible and more storable solution than traditional boxes and bins.
Material: Premium Polypropylene (PP), scratch resistant and waterproof
Dimensions: 27.2"L x 13.8"W x 15"H, 24 gallon capacity, holds up to 75 lbs
Pack Size: 10 Count, Color Clear with Orange Handles, Model P0314
Features: Foldable to 10.8" x 8.1", stackable, triple-stitched handles, strong zippers, front label pocket
Use Cases: Moving, college dorm, closet and garage organization, bedding and seasonal storage
Pros
- Stackable with flat lids to save space and keep shelves tidy
- Durable yet lightweight BPA free PP5 plastic that is washable and easy to maintain
- Versatile for multiple rooms including kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, office and garage
- Built in handles provide convenient and safe access
- Attractive woven design adds style while hiding clutter
Cons
- Lids rest on top and do not snap securely, not ideal for transport
- Available in only one compact size, may be small for bulkier items
- Tapered bottom design slightly reduces interior capacity
The Ohmlove 8 Pack Plastic Storage Baskets with Lids is a compact organization system built for small item storage throughout the home. Each bin measures 10.2 x 7.2 x 4.1 inches, making it perfect for pantries, closets, bathrooms, classrooms, offices and garages where clutter builds quickly.
In everyday use, these bins excel at grouping spices, snacks, toiletries, toys, stationery and small tools. The flat lids enable stable vertical stacking to free up valuable shelf space, while the integrated side handles make it simple to slide bins in and out of cabinets.
Design and build quality balance function and style with BPA free PP5 plastic in a modern woven texture. The material is enduring and tough yet lightweight, easy to wipe clean, and the black rectangular form complements any decor while keeping contents neatly concealed.
The main drawback is the lift off lid, which does not snap or lock, so bins can come uncovered if tipped or carried. The single size option is also limiting if you need larger storage, and the tapered bottom means the base is slightly smaller than the top opening.
Overall, this set offers excellent versatility and value for anyone seeking a tidy, organized space. If you want affordable, stackable and washable bins that look good and perform well for everyday organization, this 8 pack is a highly practical choice.
Dimensions: 10.2L x 7W x 4H inches per basket, bottom 9.2L x 6.3W inches, capacity 237.64 cubic inches.
Material: BPA free PP5 plastic, color Black, rectangular shape with geometric woven pattern.
Closure: Lift off flip top lid, stackable design with built in side handles for easy removal.
Package: Includes 8 plastic storage baskets with lids, model storage baskets-8P, total weight 1.43 kg.
Pros
- Large 66-quart capacity handles bulky blankets and seasonal clothing while remaining lightweight at 4.2 pounds
- Crystal clear plastic makes it easy to locate items quickly without unpacking
- Reinforced stackable lid with blue buckle latches saves floor space and stays stable when stacked
- Sturdy shatter-resistant plastic offers premium tote durability at a more accessible design
Cons
- Sold as a single bin, so organizing a full closet or garage requires buying multiples
- Generic brand with limited color and style options compared to premium tote brands
- Large 24 x 16 inch footprint may not fit on narrow closet shelves or under some beds
This 66-quart clear storage bin is a versatile, stackable tote designed for everyday home organization, from seasonal clothing and blankets to toys and craft supplies. It is best suited for dorms, closets, garages and kids rooms where visibility and space efficiency matter most.
In real world use, the large capacity easily swallows comforters, bulky sweaters or extensive toy collections while the transparent walls make it simple to spot contents at a glance. The reinforced lid supports stable vertical stacking, helping you reclaim floor space without the bulk of drawer systems with rails.
Built from lightweight yet shatter-resistant plastic, the bin weighs just 4.2 pounds but feels sturdy in hand. The modern clear body paired with a blue buckle latch closure gives a clean look while keeping dust out and contents secure during moves or storage.
There are a few tradeoffs to consider. The bin is sold individually, so building a full storage wall adds up, and the 24 by 16 inch footprint can be tight for narrow shelving. As a Generic brand product, it also lacks the color choices and heavy-duty load ratings of some premium totes.
Overall, this is a practical and affordable storage solution that delivers premium tote performance for everyday organizing. If you want a lightweight, see-through, stackable container that works in any room, it is a smart and reliable choice.
Capacity: 66 quarts
Dimensions: 24"L x 16"W x 13.88"H
Weight: 4.2 pounds
Material: Shatter-resistant plastic
Color: Clear with Blue Latch
Closure Type: Buckle latch
Special Feature: Stackable with reinforced lid
Recommended Uses: Clothes, blankets, toys, arts and crafts, general home storage
Model Number: snx-01
Pros
- Transparent design saves time by making contents instantly visible
- Waterproof and dustproof PVC keeps items clean and protected
- Sturdy dual handles make transporting bags easy and comfortable
- Foldable and stackable cube shape maximizes closet and under-bed space
- 10-pack provides excellent value for whole-house organization
Cons
- PVC material is not breathable, less ideal for delicate natural fabrics needing airflow
- 11.81-inch cube size can be tight for bulky comforters or large pillows
- Clear plastic look is functional but less premium than fabric storage bins
The Remittur 10-Pack Clear Zippered Storage Bags are a practical closet organization system built for everyday home use. Each 11.81-inch cube bag is designed to store clothes, bed sheets, towels, blankets and more, making them perfect for apartments, dorms, families or anyone short on space.
The standout feature is the fully transparent PVC that lets you identify contents in seconds without unzipping. Dual two-way zippers glide smoothly for easy packing and retrieval, while the waterproof and dustproof material keeps items protected from humidity and dust during long term storage.
Design is simple and functional, with a foldable structure that collapses flat when empty for easy storage. The upgraded dual handles feel solid and make it easy to pull bags from high shelves or under beds, and the thick PVC holds its shape better than thin plastic alternatives while staying lightweight.
There are a few tradeoffs to consider. PVC does not breathe, so it is not the best choice for long term storage of wool or other delicate fibers that need ventilation. The cube dimensions are versatile but may feel snug for oversized comforters, and the clear plastic aesthetic is utilitarian rather than decorative.
Overall, this 10-pack offers smart value and strong everyday performance for visible, protected storage. If you want an affordable, easy to organize solution for closets, under beds and more, it is a reliable and efficient choice for keeping your home tidy.
Pros
- Fully transparent design for quick identification of contents
- Stackable and nestable to maximize storage efficiency
- Lightweight yet durable BPA-free, acid-free and phthalate-free plastic, made in the USA
- Secure buckle latch closure with convenient pull handle for easy access
- Versatile 13 quart size ideal for dorms, closets, offices and general home organization
Cons
- Buckle handles and latches can feel fragile and may break during shipping or with rough handling
- Walls may sag or flex when overloaded with heavy items, best suited for light to medium duty use
- Not water resistant, not ideal for damp locations or outdoor storage
The IRIS USA 13 Quart Storage Bins 4-Pack is a versatile organization solution designed for closets, dorm rooms, offices and general home storage. Sized at 16.5 x 11 x 6.8 inches, it hits a sweet spot for shoes, clothing, crafts and everyday essentials without taking up excess space.
In real world use, the clear design is the standout feature, letting you identify contents at a glance and saving time on daily searches. The buckle lids lock securely to keep dust out and allow stable vertical stacking to maximize shelf and closet space.
Built from BPA-free, acid-free and phthalate-free plastic and proudly made in the USA, these bins feel lightweight at just 1.2 pounds each yet sturdy for daily use. The tapered rectangular shape nests neatly when empty, and the built-in pull handle makes sliding them from shelves effortless.
They are not without limitations. Reviews note the side buckle handles can feel cheap and may crack or detach if dropped or overtightened, and the walls can sag slightly when filled with heavier items like books. They are also not water resistant, so they should be kept in dry indoor spaces.
Overall, these IRIS USA bins deliver excellent value for light to medium duty organizing, especially for students, apartment dwellers and anyone tidying closets. If you need affordable, visible and stackable storage for everyday items, this 4-pack is a smart and reliable choice.
Dimensions: 16.5 L x 11 W x 6.81 H inches per bin, tapered for nesting
Capacity: 13 quarts per bin, 15 pounds maximum weight recommendation
Material: BPA-free, acid-free, phthalate-free plastic, clear transparent finish

Features: Stackable, nestable, rectangular shape, no assembly required
Included: 4 bodies, 4 lids, buckles, Model 587046
Why Look for an Alternative
Clear stackable totes are excellent for visibility, but they can be overkill if you mainly store soft goods like clothes, blankets, linens, or seasonal gear. They also tend to come in one large footprint that does not fit well on shallow shelves or inside cube organizers, and finding matching lids or the exact size you need can be frustrating when stock is limited.
Substitutes give you more flexibility without giving up organization. Some fold completely flat when not in use, some are sized for 11 inch cube shelving, and some include handles, zippers, or label pockets that make moving and identifying contents easier than lifting a rigid tote. If you are working with 8ft ceilings, a narrow garage, or shared closet space, that modularity and portability matters more than a single heavy tote system. For ideas on fitting storage to tighter vertical spaces, see small parts organizers for 8ft ceilings.
What to Look for Instead
Visibility, Material, and What You Plan to Store
If quick identification is your top priority, prioritize transparent or semi-transparent construction. The 66 Qt Plastic Storage Bins with Lids uses clear plastic so you can see clothing, blankets, or toys without opening the lid, and the IRIS USA 4-Pack 13 Quart Storage Bins with Lids offers the same see-through design with a secure locking lid and BPA free, acid free materials. The HOMESURE Supports 200lbs Heavy Duty Moving Bags takes a softer approach with semi-transparent woven fabric and a clear tag pocket so you can still scan contents while keeping the bag lightweight and water resistant.
If you would rather conceal clutter or match a living space, fabric and opaque plastic with lids are strong substitutes. The Household Essentials Fabric Storage Bins in Strong is made from poly-woven fabric with sturdy chipboard sides and silver grommet handles, sized at 11 inch L x 11 inch W x 11 inch H to fit cube shelving and closets. The Ohmlove 8 Pack Plastic Storage Baskets with Lids uses durable PP5 plastic that is BPA free, with a woven texture and included lids that keep dust out while blending with any decor. Both options work well for books, art supplies, and accessories where you do not need full transparency. You can compare clear options further in best clear storage bins for concrete walls reviewed.
Footprint, Stackability, and Storage When Empty
To maximize vertical space, look for true stackable designs that do not waste height with rails or tracks. The Ohmlove 8 Pack Plastic Storage Baskets with Lids has a dedicated stacking design that keeps columns tidy on shelves or in cabinets, the 66 Qt Plastic Storage Bins with Lids uses reinforced lids to create a stable stacking unit for closets and garages, and the IRIS USA 4-Pack 13 Quart Storage Bins with Lids stacks securely with locking lids and also nests when empty thanks to its tapered shape. These choices let you build upward in a 2 car garage or a small closet without needing wall-mounted tracks. For heavier vertical setups, heavy tote garage cabinets shows how to pair bins with supportive cabinetry.
If you only need storage seasonally or for moves, foldable alternatives save far more space than rigid totes. The HOMESURE Supports 200lbs Heavy Duty Moving Bags fold down into a compact stack when empty, the KYODOLED 10-Pack Clear Moving Bags Heavy Duty folds flat to about 10.8 inch x 8.1 inch, the 10-Pack Clear Zippered Storage Bags with Handles is foldable for closet, under-bed, or trunk storage, and the Household Essentials Fabric Storage Bins in Strong folds flat as well. That fold-flat ability is ideal for dorms, apartments, and garages where you want capacity on demand without storing empty plastic year round. If you are planning a work area around that storage, best garage workbench for 2 car garage offers layout ideas that keep folding storage accessible.
Portability, Handles, and Everyday Access
How you carry and retrieve a container matters as much as how it stacks. The Household Essentials Fabric Storage Bins in Strong includes silver grommet front handles for easy pulling from cubbies, the Ohmlove 8 Pack Plastic Storage Baskets with Lids has built-in side handles for safe removal from shelves, and the IRIS USA 4-Pack 13 Quart Storage Bins with Lids includes a pull handle for sliding bins out smoothly. For heavier loads, the HOMESURE Supports 200lbs Heavy Duty Moving Bags uses wrap-around handles that encircle the bag from bottom to top to create a cradle and is rated to support up to 200lbs, while the KYODOLED 10-Pack Clear Moving Bags Heavy Duty uses triple-stitched handles and is rated to hold up to 75 lbs and 24 gallons, both of which help distribute weight when carrying books, linens, or kitchenware.
Access features can replace the need for full transparency. The 10-Pack Clear Zippered Storage Bags with Handles uses two upgraded handles and two two-way zippers for easy opening from either side, plus a fully clear PVC construction so you can see items in seconds. The KYODOLED 10-Pack Clear Moving Bags Heavy Duty pairs its clear design with a reinforced front label pocket and high-visibility orange handles that make bags easy to spot in a truck or storage unit, while the HOMESURE Supports 200lbs Heavy Duty Moving Bags also includes a clear tag pocket for room or category labels. These details keep you from unzipping every bag to find what you need and work well for seasonal rotation in October. For small hardware that pairs with these systems, see best slatwall hooks for basement storage and best power tool organizer for concrete wall.
Final Thoughts
If you want a soft, cube-friendly substitute that hides clutter and fits existing shelving, the Household Essentials Fabric Storage Bins in Strong gives you structured poly-woven storage without rigid plastic, while the IRIS USA 4-Pack 13 Quart Storage Bins with Lids keeps the clear, stackable visibility you originally wanted in a more compact and nestable form. Either approach gives you vertical, organized storage without committing to a single bulky tote system.
